The graduates from the Telecommunication Engineering programme should: - know deeply the methodological - operational aspects of mathematics and of other basic sciences, and be able to use this knowledge for the interpretation and the description of the engineering problems; - know adequately the methodological - operational aspects of the engineering sciences, both generally and specifically in relation to a specific Telecommunication Engineering area, in which they should be able to identify, formulate and solve the problems, through up - to - date methods, techniques and tools; - be able to use techniques and tools for the components, systems and processes planning; - be able to carry out experiments and to analyse and interpret the experimental data; - know the company context and the enterprise culture in its economic, managerial and organizational aspects; have relational and decisional abilities; - be able to communicate correctly, both orally and written, besides in Italian language, also in English; - have the basic cognitive tools in order to update continuously their own competences and be able to learn trough the individual study activity. The undergraduate programme of Telecommunication Engineering aims at training professional persons who should be able to play technical and organizational roles in specific contexts, where the knowledge of the methodological - operational aspects of basic sciences and engineering is required with particular attention to the telecommunications specific aspects without leaving out the more general ones. The graduates will be acquainted with the main features of techniques, apparatus, systems and infrastructures about acquisition, processing and transmission of information, and their use in applications and telecommunications services. The training will be completed and integrated by laboratory activities, company grounding which will be conveyed through seminars, classes and internships and adequate knowledge of a foreign language.
The graduate in Telecommunication Engineering will have the possibility to work in the fields of planning, engineering, production use and maintenance of the telecommunication systems, and also in similar fields such as those specific fields of the Engineering for Information. The typical professional fields for the graduates of this Master's programme are private and public companies, manufacturing and services companies, technical - commercial structures, public bodies, normative and control bodies.
